I prefer to live in the real world
In the last times, we often hear medias to talk about the new vision of Zuckerberg “the metaverse”, a kind of complementary world to the real one, “a place where everyone can do the impossible”; so many questions make noise in my mind like..
“ Why in this exact historical moment? ”
“ Of all the problems we are bombarded with every day, which of these would solve this alleged metaverse? ”
“ is it really essential? Useful? “
“ What could happen if a technological revolution of this magnitude were run by the wrong people? “
So far I have only talked about this topic with one person, a very dear friend of mine, practically a brother, if not a companion in adventures and business.
Thefirst thing we agreed on is precisely the fourth point, which is: “What if malicious people who have the power to do so would take over the metaverse?”
Premise: I hate any form of label used by the powers that be and spread to the masses as a means of “ghettoization of thought”. The labels that create hatred, inequality, disintegration, injustice, ignorance and that over time can lead to many tragedies. Labels that tend to isolate people who follow an “autonomous”, free and democratic line of thought, which often differs from the guided thinking of the masses.
Why am I saying this?
In the last two years I have followed the "pandemic" story very carefully, almost maniacally, listening in a neutral way to all the different parties that have arisen in this story. Why do I say factions? Because starting from the same scientists, health institutes, politicians up to the common people, there is a great rift. And this should already make us think a lot. So .. one of the two is wrong and the other is right, but at what price will this definitively be understood?
This is why I speak of labels .. because someone might already think that I am a conspiracy theorist, denier, flat earther and other bullshit like that.
No.
I am simply a curious person, who reflects, asks questions and tries to understand what the real truth of the facts is, to safeguard himself but also the people around me.
But the covid is not the focus of this post, it is the frame.
I personally have the vague feeling that people are victims of an indirect and disguised attempt at re-education.
Authoritative newspapers such as Time speak of a "great reset".
But what exactly is it that needs to be canceled and rescheduled, restarted?Surely there are many things that are wrong with society and that should be improved, but…
are we sure that the agenda that is being followed is public and not private?
we have been so strongly accustomed to staying much longer than necessary locked up inside our homes, against all scientific reasons and evidence, that not only many people have developed a social phobia and an afephobia, but even to the point that even through the implementation and the standardization of the metaverse, we could develop agoraphobia and over time forget the external world, the "true" dimension that belongs to us and in which life is consumed.
Imagine if leaving the house became a crime.
Try to imagine the sensation of perceiving what is beyond your front door as if it were a dark and deep ocean floor.
Imagine if staying at home and living in the metaverse was the only certainty left.
Imagine being involved in technology so much that it is now part of you to the point where you can no longer say "I don't want to look, I don't want to hear, etc."
Because all external media bombardments no longer reach your device, the device is inside you.
The world as you have always seen and lived it no longer exists. Imagine. The feeling of not knowing how thin the line is between safe and dangerous.
Not knowing who or what could be waiting for you in the open space, because the whole world now spends its time on a space that could exist but that would not be true.

And if we reflect well together with the teachings of history, these are hypothetical scenarios more than possible. Because the greatest tragedies begin with the megalomaniac man's imagination and then take place over time.
Just like a business, in practice it is not self-powered by its owner, but by employees, who have been taught the job and who indefinitely replicate it in a mechanical way. For example.
Awareness, psychology and beliefs are fundamental factors on which tragedies have always been consumed.
But I'm not here to give you the absolute truth, but to leave you with a doubt.
Never stop reflecting independently and freely.
Surely the metaverse can destroy even more barriers than the simple internet perhaps and create many opportunities, but in the same way it can cause great tragedies if controlled by the wrong people.
Personally, in the event that some, all and / or other such hypotheses occur, I would never accept a similar life condition.I would never allow someone to determine what my space is, how I should spend my time and to restrict my fundamental and non-fundamental rights to 0 or almost nothing.I would never replace my true shared and humanly transmitted irrationality with digital / virtual reactions.I would never replace a real person and anything that can make me live with his avatar and inhuman stuff.
Think carefully about it. Because the metaverse could really become the new space where every area of your life will be lived.
